Bogen is famous in the outdoor industry for their quality tripods and accessories.  Their 322RC2 Horizontal Grip Action Ball Head is a marvelous piece of engineering for anyone who needs to steady their optics.  Because the 322RC2 is horizontal, it adds only a small amount of overall height to your tripod or window mount, but provides a very stable base for your spotting scope or binoculars.  The grip of the 322RC2 is where the real magic is.  Simply squeeze the handle and the optics are free to move smoothly on the ball head.  Let go of the handle and your optics lock in place instantly.  The tension is also adjustable to fit your individual preference.  At the top of the 322RC2 is Bogen's brilliant quick-release plate.  It allows you to leave the plate attached to your optics and simply drop them into the head when you're ready to use it.  An often overlooked benefit of the horizontal handle is that it can make a very steady shooting platform on top of your tripod.  Once you try this grip action head you might wonder how you got by without it!
